The Maldives - A Secluded Glen Island Chain
Today we trek to a Secluded Glen location that is an entire island chain located in South Asia in the Indian Ocean. The Maldives are directly south of India and southwest of Sri Lanka. The Maldives is officially known as the Republic of Maldives as it gained independence in 1965. There are tons of secluded glen spots here. This includes actual small rainforest secluded glens, remote beach spots like the one above, private lagoons, and even uninhabited islands and atolls. The resorts themselves offer refreshing and secluded over the water gazebos and private beaches. Look at the vehicles you take to get there and you will get a sense of how secluded the Maldives are in the world. The vehicles once you get there are perfect for you to explore. Remember if you sit in the middle of the ocean with no one around while on your sailboat, that to us is a secluded glen spot in itself.
The Maldives is a chain of islands and atolls that are fairly clustered to each other. Look at this splendid aerial shot to show you a sample of the many secluded glen possibilities you can visit.
There are quiet lagoons that we consider a secluded glen. Check out this one that is walking distance from a resort.
Many Maldives locales and resorts are so remote you have to get there by boat or better yet, a floating plane. You can see both modes of transportation here.
Go sailing to your own private island. Yes, remote uninhabited islands are what we consider a secluded glen locale as well.
When you kayak, you are literally the only kayak a vast lagoon or bay for miles around. Just look at this secluded glen type spot below.
Use a wave runner to explore unseen nooks and small bays with no one around. These private inlets are also what we call secluded glens.
Even if you stay at a large resort, each unit is quite secluded with water and bridges between you. Imagine staying at the end of this long runway of over the water bungalows!
We hope you make it to the Maldives and find your own secluded glen spot. Definitely bring lots of books to read. You will feel rejuvenated and full of life.
