Kuang Si Secluded Glen and Waterfall in Laos
Hi Secluded Glenders,
Today we embark on a voyage to Kuang Si Secluded Glen and the Tad Sae Waterfalls in the heart of Laos. This is easily one of the most scenic glens and pools on the planet. We get to see the jungles of Southeastern Asia and bask in the glory of the unique environment. We also get to eat some of the tastiest food in the world. What is not to like?!
Kuang Si Waterfalls
The falls are a gentle low drop falls that spread out into multiple pools. Yes you can swim here in the pools as well. It is perfect for swimmers, adventurers, and photographers.
Kuang Si Steps
These steps run through the rocks with water. You will walk up over 100 steps through rushing water on both sides and on the steps. The water is strongest on the right side of the steps so stay left if possible. So what's at the top? It is actually the headwaters for the falls, a lake the holds water on higher flat lands from all the tropical rains and monsoons. Be sure to wear good gripping water shoes or barefoot, you don't want regular shoes here if you can avoid it.
Tad Sae Waterfalls
Higher up you will see these falls that run through a mangrove forest area. Multiple falls criss cross each other.
Luang Prabang Village
This charming village is nearby the falls. You will visit here if you want to stop by the falls.
Luang Prabang Temple
Definitely make time to check out the Luang Prabang Temple, with its striking golden multi-tiered slant roofs. You don't even need to go in to take photos as you can snap pictures across the street from an elevated perch. The temple itself is built on a high mound which is common for places for worship in this region so can see it from street level over its walls.
Laung Prabang Royal Palace Museum
A must visit is the Laung Prabang Royal Palace Musuem, check out its imperial design and lush surrounding vegetation.
