What is a Secluded Glen?  
Part 2 of 2 for our overview series.

Last time we covered what are Glens.  Today we go over what is a Secluded Glen and what it means to us at SecludedGlen.com.  In fact, the term is why we started this site. 

A Secluded Glen can be a quiet place to walk through.  It does not always mean devoid of my made structures.  Take a look at this image that shows a pathway clearly made by humans but it is a remote trail that cuts through a forest.  You can think and seek your inner peace while staying active.

The concept of a secluded glen can manifest in the form of a remote cabin or home where you can get to and have time to pontificate life.  Below is a great example with a home situated at a peninsula stretching into a large lake surrounded by mountain ranges.  It has a small dock and boat for fishing or just rowing out to the lake for relaxation. 

Find a secluded beach on a remote island in the world. Often it pays to go to a popular island such as the main island of Fiji, and then taking a boat or seaplane out to a more remote island such as the Turtle Bay Resort we discussed last time.  Below check this island with mangroves reaching the ocean in the Indian Ocean, the famous Seychelles.

One of our favorite secluded glen choices is a beautiful white sand beach that is remote yet accessible.  White sand beaches are bright and the sand is a more refined powder form of silica that is soft to the touch and great for your skin.  White sand is so comfortable to walk on, it feels like you are gliding through baby powder.  It's also great for sand castles and writing.  

Our top Secluded Glen Choice for White Sand beaches is one of our previous featured posts - Lanikai Beach on the eastern shores of Oahu island in the state of Hawaii, United States.  Rent a house right at this secluded beach. There are no bathrooms and no parking lots so it is definitely more remote.  Most tourists head to the beaches just South but that is a yellow sand beach.  If you drive there plan to park on the side of roads with no curbs by houses.  Find one of two public paths into the beach.  The northern one gets flooded when the tide comes in so find the southern one to be sure.  Spend the early day here.

After you spend the early day at Lanikai, have lunch at the local town and then head up the hill to glimpse the glorious mid day sun.  Look at the breathtaking photo below that has the sun's rays casting a stunning triple ray spotlight on the two Chinaman's Hat isalnds.  We love the glimmer of the sun's rays bouncing off the ocean, one of the most serene and Secluded Glen views in the world. Below is Lanikai Beach and the water is crystal clear out to several miles into the sea.  Water is warm and calm as there are natural reefs and volcanic rock with a low depth covering the area. 

As the sun sets you can find a volcanic rock to sit on like her below and enjoy the surreal sights.  You could literally sit her for ours and ponder the Universe.  This is the epitome of a secluded glen.
